Indoor Range Rules
- The last person to leave sweep the floor after shooting, sweep the entire floor with
sweeping compound from the firing line to the targets after formal practices or matches.
Turn off the furnaces and turn down the thermostats, the procedure for this will be posted by the termostats.
Turn off the lights and fans, check and lock the side doors and lock the front door with the pad lock.
- Use only ALL LEAD BULLETS!! Do no use FULL METAL JACKETED,
HALF JACKETED, JACKETED HOLLOW POINT or JACKETED SOFT POINT bullets.
- Any .22 rimfire with a maximum length of 1.1 or any non-magnum pistol cartridge
through .45 with a maximum over all length of 1.61 inches may be used in this range.
No center fire rifles or bottleneck pistol cartridges may be fired. No black powder shooting
is permitted. No steel BB shooting permitted.
- No Smoking in the range at any time or in the meeting room during certain organized
events or practices.
- Everyone in the range room must wear hearing and eye protection when anyone is
shooting.
- No shooter or observer shall stand closer than 50 feet from the backstop while anyone
is shooting. Certain matches may be exempted.
- Only paper targets placed in the appropriate hangers are permitted.
Targets must be placed in line with the established target holders. Exceptions to this rule
may be made for certain air gun matches.
- No target shall be fired at more than one target hanger to the left or right or the hanger
directly in front of the shooter. (No cross firing of more than one target hanger.)
- Use the proper target hangers. The small ones are for pistol, the large square ones
are for shmall-bore rifle. Stow small-bore hangers before leaving. Do not staple targets to the backboard.
- Do no light the fireplace.
- Sign the logbook at the door when you use the range.
Print your name, the date and the time in and out. Scheduled activities and matches may be exempted.
- Report any range problems, furnace problems, etc. to a Board Member.
A list of Board Members and their telephone numbers will be posted by the pay phone.
- Any variation of these rules for match purposes must have Board approval.
