Range Rules
Universal Range Rules
- Alcohol and guns do not mix. Alcohol may be consumed only after shooters
put their guns away for the rest of the day. If a person appears intoxicated on club property
he or she will be escorted home.
- Before anyone moves forward of the firing line ALL firearms are to be:
unloaded and boxed, benched with the action open, or unloaded
and holstered.
- No firearms shall be uncased or touched in any manner at or behind the
firing line with anyone forward of the firing line.
- When two or more shooters are shooing on the range at the same time,
appoint one range office, who is responsible for procedures and etiquette.
- Range maintenance and mowing take president over shooting.
When work is being done, no shooting is allowed on that range.
- Children must be kept quiet and under conrol, they must be kept away from
range that are in use, unless they are shooting.
- There will be no hunting of plant materials or shooting of animals on club
property. No one shall use club property to gain access to neighboring property for any purpose.
- Dogs must be kept quiet and under control while on club property during shooting
meetings or work activities. No dogs will be allowed in any of the club buildings.
- Use only safe targets on club property. Glass, concrete, brick, porcelain,
hanging steel over 5/8 inch thick, or braced steel targets are no considered SAFE on
MRC property. Some ranges have additional target restrictions.
- Guns shall not be fired in fully automatic or burst mode on club property.
- Remove and propertly stow or dispose of all targets when you are through
shooting.
- Remove and properly stow all target grames and / or hangers
when shooting is completed.
- Host members are responsible for making sure that their guest follow club rules.
Match officials are responsible for competitors following club rules.
- Eye and ear protection is required by everyone on any active range.
- Members are limited to 2 guests per day.
- Any member may invoke the one-hour rule, except during matches or formal
practice.
- If you believe you are the last person leaving the range close and lock the gate.
